Flash sale specialist Veepee has a new webshop: all users across Europe will encounter the same platform from now on. In the future, a platform for second-hand sales should be incorporated.
International market
The company, a result of a merger of flash sale competitors Vente Exclusive and Vente Privée, wants to ensure that customers have access to more international deals and brands have a wider reach. The new site should also enable new opportunities, also eyeing sustainable sectors like second-hand, recycling and upcycling.
“All European countries of the Veepee Group now use the same IT system. This is not only an advantage in terms of ease of use for our members, but also for us: we can now easily add new features. This is necessary to keep up with new trends in e-commerce and re-commerce”, Country Manager Tobias Tousseyn says.
Second-hand and recycling
Specifically, a project about recycling is already in the pipeline: in France, customers can exchange worn shoes or clothing for a voucher from a participating brand. For example, there has been a ‘Re-cycle’ campaign involving rubber boots brand Aigle. Soon, this service should also be available in the Benelux. Veepee even wants to focus on consumer-to-consumer sales for second-hand goods: the group is looking into an internal platform where users can trade goods purchased on Veepee among one another.
The new platform is a continuation of the acquisitions and expansion of the flash sales site in recent years. Veepee started in Belgium in 2006 as Vente-Exclusive.com but merged with French Vente-Privée in 2015. In 2019, it was renamed Veepee, a company that now operates in ten countries across Europe – but had a separate webshop for almost all its different markets.
