The Re/code website accidentally stumbled upon a Buy Now button in Fancy.com’s tweets, through Twitter’s mobile app. The website states that the button had no actual functionality, even though some say it did lead to a purchase page. Twitter and Fancy currently refuse to comment whether Buy Now functionality will be added to Tweets.
That same website had already found documents talking about this functionality back in January, claiming a new section on the site called Twitter Commerce. There were even images detailing the button, but back then, it was said that it was merely a Fancy.com suggestion regarding this functionality.
Twitter has recently added the possibility to add products to your Amazon shopping basket while using Twitter, but this would be the very first time that Twitter enables the immediate purchase of any item.
