Belgium a launchpad to the rest of the world
Webshop Trustmark has now officially launched in Belgium: “We have noticed that there is an increasing need for a quality brand and additional support in other countries and mainly in Belgium. That is why we have decided to launch Webshop Keurmerk on a worldwide scale, but with Webshop Trustmark as its international name”, president Mark Teurlings said.
Belgium is up first: “A number of stores has already applied for a quality check and to be added to the Belgian Webshop Trustmark and to get the “Webshop Label de Qualité” for the French-speaking consumer as well. These will activate as soon as all the requirements are met”, the company said.
“Thousands of stores have joined”
Webshop Keurmerk is already the largest quality mark in the Netherlands and wants to use Webshop Trustmark to become “the largest independent quality mark in the world. Thousands of stores have already joined the quality mark that a lot of consumers trust”, the organization stated.
Webshop Keurmerk / Trustmerk has been around since 2001 and aims to protect consumers from improper sellers: stores that have joined the organization face independent supervision and periodic checks. If there are consumer complaints, an international team of lawyers will examine these complaints.
Belgian quality marks like BeCommerce Trust Label, Unizo’s e-commerce label and SafeShops will now face stiff competition with the arrival of this Dutch competitor.
