The owners, which include former KPN CEO Ad Scheepbouwer and former financial manager Berend van de Maat, also want to see how much the company is currently worth. Sources from within RFS Holland Holding have told Dutch newspaper Het Financiëele Dagblad that American giant Amazon is reportedly interested.
RFS Holland Holding went through the same motions in 2012 and slapped a 500 million euro asking price on the company. Ahold was apparently interested, but decided to buy competitor Bol.com, which in turn meant that RFS Holland Holding was no longer for sale.
The company had recently announced that it had a 6-month 353 million euro turnover, up 7 % compared to the year before. When it put itself up for sale in 2012, it hoped to get 500 million euro, based on a yearly turnover of 469 million euro and an operating income of 50.4 million euro.
