Other universities to follow
Amazon@Purdue, focused on the university students: they can use their student account to check which books they need for their studies and order them on Amazon. If necessary, the books can be rented from Amazon to lower costs.
Students will also get free “one-day shipping” on a number of items. While Purdue already has an Amazon pick-up point, it will get another one soon, with other universities in California and Massachusetts to follow.
Amazon’s intention to acquire a number of RadioShack stores also made the news recently, but it will wait until the chain files for bankruptcy. In any case, Amazon is turning its attention towards physical retail.
