From 56 to 110 stores
Dutch Autototaalglas, a company that replaces or repairs car windows, has become a part of Belron, the world’s largest vehicle glass company and also Carglass’ parent company. Financial details of the deal have not been divulged.
Franchise organization Autototaalglas, founded in 1986, has a 3 million euro turnover in its 54 Dutch stores. By comparison: Carglass currently has 56 Dutch stores.
Both brands will continue to co-exist: “That way we can propose 2 value propositions to our customers as Autototaalglas is a bit cheaper than Carglass”, D’Ieteren spokesperson Pascale Weber told business paper De Tijd. D’Ieteren, a car service group from Brussels, controls 94.85 % of Belron, which is active in 34 countries in 5 continents. Its 26,500 employees service over 11 million customers per year.
