Launch in United Kingdom nears
It is not the first time that there have been rumours about Amazon’s plans to launch a French version of Amazon Fresh, but according to the French Lineaires magazine, it is the first time Amazon has actually approached manufacturers. This makes it ever more likely that Amazon will launch its service on the European mainland.
Amazon Fresh is already getting ready to enter the UK market as the American online retailer has already invested a lot in food-focused distribution centers. Previous rumours placed Amazon Fresh’ launch in Germany and Austria, sometime last year, but those plans were pushed back.
Currently, Amazon Fresh is only available in several American locations, like in Seattle (the place it was founded), Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York. Amazon Fresh does not limit itself to products it sells itself online, as customers can also order from the manufacturer itself or from a restaurant if so desired.
