Expansion in the future
If customers want the package to be delivered on the same day, they have to place the order prior to 16h. Courier service Liefery will then deliver it at the customer’s doorstep between 19h and 21h. If the serivce is a success, it can be expanded to other cities as well: at first, Zalando is considering adding other German cities, but other countries could also benefit from the same-day delivery service in the future.
The company also revealed yesterday that it would start construction on a new distribution center in the German city of Lahr, near Strasbourg. The 100 million euro investment should open its doors by the end of next year.
