Books with 4 stars
At 9:30 this morning, internet giant Amazon opened its very first Amazon Books: “These aren’t metaphorical doors: these real, wooden doors are the entrance to our new store in Seattle’s University Village”, the American internet company said.
After 20 years of experience with online book sales, Amazon now opened a 511 sqm book store. “We’ve build a store that integrates the benefits of offline and online book shopping”, VP Amazon Books’ Jennifer Cast said.
The customer can only buy books that have received at least a 4-star rating online, which boils down to some 5,000 to 6,000 books. Prices will be equal to the online prices, while so-called Amazon “device experts” will introduce Amazon’s devices (Kindle, Echo, Fire TV and Fire tablet) to the customers. It remains to be seen whether Amazon will only limit itself to this one book store.
