Focus on customer experience
Alibaba wants to focus on China’s major cities, to expand its eCommerce activities in China’s rural areas and to boost its international growth thanks to different eCommerce websites.
“We are going to consolidate and expand our current market, particularly by enhancing reputation, optimising user experience and increasing our market share in first-tier cities”, Zhang said during a presentation on its expansion strategy.
Alibaba will also continue to build its Tmall Global and Taobao, by adding channels for international brands and sellers, allowing them to sell their products to Chinese customers. “We are going to build our businesses around the two brands, in order to raise their awareness among customers and offer optimal user experience”, Zhang added.
