1,000 new employees
Coolblue’s 2014 turnover was 360 million euro, which means it has achieved a 54 % increase in 2015, to 555 million euro. Customers came back more often, but it also added a lot of new customers.
Its staff numbers also increased considerably in 2015, from 578 to more than 1,500, thanks to a new distribution center in Tilburg, which helped increase the company’s product range and its number of delivery options.
Coolblue hopes to continue that growth in 2016 and has plans to add another 1,000 employees to its roster. The first 80 started work in January, both in Belgium and the Netherlands. It also wants to build another two stores, both in Belgium, but it is still looking for possible locations, near Hasselt and between Leuven and Zaventem. It has even issued a competition on its website (coolbluewinkels.be), allowing customers to propose a location. If a particular location is chosen, the customer that gave that option, will receive a 100 euro voucher.
