Delivery service Deliveroo will now also home delivery drinks, starting with Diageo‘s brands in London. Deliveroo also launched its meal delivery service in the English capital last year.
Drinks with the meal
Vodka, gin, whiskey and rum from brands like Johnnie Walker, Smirnoff, Gordon’s, Tanqueray, Captain Morgan and J&B, which all belong to the British liquor company Diageo, will all get home delivered. The customer can order the drinks from either the Diageo or the Deliveroo app and the delivery service will then bring the drinks, alongside the other food orders it drives around.
It has been delivering meals from high quality restaurants around London for more than a year now and has plans to expand across Europe. Following London, where Deliveroo services more than 100,000 customers, it is looking towards other major cities in the United Kingdom and across Europe. The Middle East and Asia are also part of the company’s expansion plans.
A 275 million euro capital injection last year, from investment firms Greenoaks Capital and Index Ventures, ignited Deliveroo’s drive for expansion.
