Restaurant chain Le Pain Quotidien will open a new European main office in Brussels, alongside a new flagship store restaurant at the Tour & Taxis location.
32 new restaurants
Le Pain Quotidien’s current main office is located in New York and will continue to serve as main office, but only for its American activities. The main office in Brussels will take charge of its European and Middle Eastern restaurants.
The location in Tour & Taxis will serve as its training center and its newest restaurant. Price will be in the vicinity 400,000 euro and its doors should open in the fall. Not only will the training center educate its Belgian employees, but also every franchisee worldwide.
Le Pain Quotidien opened 29 new restaurants in 2016 and will continue its expansion in 2017. For this year, it has 32 new restaurants planned, including twelve in Latin America.
For next year, the targets is Asia, where it already has a presence in India and Japan and a franchise store in Hong Kong. “We are going to buy that one back, because we want Hong Kong to be our Asian headquarters, a landing area to conquer Singapore and China”, Le Pain Quotidien’s CEO, Vincent Herbert, said.
Growth in Belgium
The chain’s turnover and profit reached 367 million dollars (344 million euro) and 30 million dollars (28 million euro) respectively last year. For this year, it targets a 410 million dollar (384 million euro) turnover.
Those improved results are largely down to better performances in Belgium. Its local turnover grew 20 % and its profitability also improved 25 %.
