Fashion brand McGregor will be returning to the streets in Belgium and the Netherlands. The label is about to open six stores in the two countries in the coming autumn.
“Visible and with conviction”
The new McGregor outlets will be in Amsterdam, The Hague, Rotterdam, Breda, Antwerp and Knokke. The first three will be run by McGregor itself whereas the others will be franchised. All openings are planned in the period from mid-September to mid-October.
“We definitely wanted to return to the market with visibility and conviction, having stores in important locations,” stated Coen Gehring, commercial director at McGregor. “In Amsterdam, we managed to get hold of a fantastic location on the corner of Willems Parkweg and Van Baerlestraat. In The Hague there’s the Michael Kors store in the Hoogstraat and in Rotterdam the Armani Jeans store in the Karel Doormanstraat. It couldn’t have worked out any better, really.”
At the end of last year, McGregor was bankrupt and announced that it would be making a comeback this year, both online and in the shopping streets. The webshop has now been operational for more than a month and Gehrig is satisfied with the customers’ response: “It look like a loyal group of consumers already knows quite well where to find us. We hope that these stores will help us to solidify and further develop the direct interaction with that loyal circle of customers. This is how we complete the circle of our omnichannel approach.”
