Belgian supermarket chain Delhaize is changing the composition of its Board of Directors as Françoise Burlet leaves the company. The EVP Commerce is responsible for buying, marketing, quality and store concepts: those will be divided among two other directors.
Personal reasons
Burlet is to leave Delhaize on 1 September, because of personal reasons. “She has played an important role in every major business decision and in renewing our current commercial strategy”, a press release states.
Pietro John Rollo will assume responsibility for quality and store concepts, while Alexandros Boussis will take care of marketing and e-commerce. Apart from them, the Board of Directors consists of CEO Xavier Piesvaux, EVP Operations Dieter De Waegeneer, SVP Legal Belgium & Central and South-Eastern Europe Els Steen, CIO Belgium & Central and South-Eastern Europe Thierry De Vleeschouwer, SVP Finance Siger Spaans and SVP Human Resources & Corporate Affairs Illya Van den Borre.
“This composition of the Board of Directors will enable Delhaize to speed up the execution of its renewed commercial strategy. We anticipate the evolutions in retail and focus on our customers and employees, now more than ever”, CEO Piesvaux said.
