Orangutan in danger
“The Head & Shoulders producer has to stop destroying rainforests through our shower”, Greenpeace said after a year-long research into the effect of suppliers and their Borneo rainforest concessions. It showed that there was large-scale deforestation present, destroying the habitat of the orangutan.
The organization now demands Procter & Gamble to follow Belgian Delhaize’s example and that of other products, who have all indicated to no longer use palm oil if it has been created through deforestation. Delhaize is the first large chain that has vowed to ban this type of palm oil by the end of 2015, using only traceable palm oil. That way, the source of the palm oil and its possible devastating effects can be tracked.
