Free through Europe
Alongside the thirty new stores, Tesla will also expand its Supercharger network which powers its Model S. An owner of one of these cars can charge their car free of charge at these fast charging stations: an expanded network will allow Tesla customers to travel huge distances across Europe for free.
“By the end of this year, we expect you will be able to travel almost anywhere in Europe using only Superchargers”, Tesla Motors’ CEO and co-founder, Elon Musk, said.
Tesla sold 22,477 cars in 2013, but it expects European and Asian sales combined to double those of North America by the end of 2014. Driving force behind this growth should be the United Kingdom, where it will launch a Model S with a right-side steering wheel. Competitive financial and leasing options should also help to create additional sales.
