Belgian fashion label Essentiel Antwerp has decided to stop designing collections for men, in order to focus fully on its women’s collections. The label’s store that focuses on men, in the Schuttershofstraat in Antwerp, is closing its doors.
Growth opportunities
The Antwerp brand launched its first collection for men in 2004, but now the brand has says it has “decided to focus on its strengths, and fully focus on women’s clothing.” This means that the autumn-winter collection that is now on display in the shops is the last one to appear on the market. The separate shop for men, in the luxurious Schuttershofstraat in Antwerp, will therefore close its doors. By fully focusing on the women’s collection, the brand thinks it will have more opportunities for growth.
Essentiel Antwerp achieved a strong growth last year and generated a turnover of 57 million euros. The brand has other stores in Belgium, China, France, Germany, the Netherlands, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland and the United Kingdom: mid-March, the brand opened its first store in London. The brand has made the British market a priority and is already looking for a second location in London. New stores are also opening in France and China.
