Irish Primark has said it will expand to Slovakia in 2022, with a shop in the Eurovea shopping centre in the capital Bratislava. The Central European country will then become the fifteenth market for the fashion discounter.
Fifteenth market
The new store will have 3,660 sqm of retail space, spread over two floors, Retail Gazette reports. There will be room for women’s, men’s and children’s clothing, household items, accessories and beauty products. There will also be a range of sustainable products, including nightwear and bedding, made from 100 % sustainable cotton.
Primark has started a Central European expansion plan: in June of this year, the discounter already opened its first branch in Slovenia, in the capital Ljubljana. The retail chain previously announced it would open stores in Poland and the Czech Republic for the first time in 2020. Primark currently has 376 points of sale in twelve countries. Therefore, with the three Central European countries added, the counter goes up to fifteen.
