Swedish furniture chain Ikea has opened a pop-up store in Eindhoven (the Netherlands), that wants to attract attention to its smart products. However, the store is more like a showroom, with customers unable to physically purchase and take home the smart products.
Experience is key
The pop-up experience shop is part of Ikea’s latest Dutch marketing campaign “Iedereen slim” (“Everyone smart”), and wants to show customers how its new range of smart products can make life more efficient, smarter and more sustainable. Three product categories are featured in the store: smart lighting, versatile speakers and wireless charging.
Key to the temporary store is not sales, but experience. Products are displayed in a ‘Smart Bar’, but besides that there also is an ‘Infinity Room’ where mirrors and lots of lights stimulate the senses.
The pop-up store remains open until 29 December (excluding Christmas).
