Beter Bed seems to be doing better again now that the company is rid of its German subsidiary Matratzen Concord. In the fourth quarter, organic sales from continuing operations increased by 4.7%.
Overall growth
In the last quarter of 2019, Beter Bed Holding recorded sales of 47.6 million euros (of which 41.9 million in the Benelux), an increase of 5.1% compared to the same period last year. That is without taking the proceeds from the sold subsidiary Matratzen Concord into account. On a comparable basis, growth was 4.7%, the number of new orders increased by 6.0%. The company stated that it benefited from a successful advertising campaign and excellent sales during Black Friday.
The company’s new activities, particularly Sängjätten in Sweden and the wholesale channel DBC, also experienced revenue growth. The number of orders in this segment even rose by a fifth. DBC’s M-line mattresses, in particular, proved to be a hit.
Over the whole of 2019, turnover amounted to 185.6 million euros. Beter Bed will publish its full results on 17 March.
