Fashion chain C&A is closing thirteen stores in Germany. Last week, the company also announced the closure of some thirty French stores.
Restructuring plan
The news isn’t surprising at all: at the end of last year, German sources already reported that the chain would potentially close a hundred stores under the restructuring plan ‘Turnaround Germany’. The thirteen branches that will be closed are spread throughout Germany.
C&A states that it is constantly scrutinizing its store database to determine whether stores should be closed or modernized, writes Het Laatste Nieuws. The new closures are the result of that analysis.
Last week it was announced that the fashion group, run by the Brenninkmeijer family, will also close 30 branches in France. C&A has had to contend with declining sales in the country for some time now.
