Some 300 Amazon employees have signed a petition that criticises the e-commerce company’s climate policy. At the same time, it is an open protest against an internal regulation that they feel as being censoring.

Ever more criticism

The group Amazon Employees for Climate Justice has published a petition and open letter on opinion site Medium. Within Amazon, there is increasingly more resistance to some of the company’s projects and investments, which include contracts with major oil and gas companies, the development of face recognition software for police forces and bidding for a major US defense contract. A number of employees reportedly have more and more ethical objections to such projects, Vox writes.
