Fast-growing Chinese discount chain Miniso is now also set to conquer the French market: on Tuesday, the first branch in Paris has opened its doors. The retailer wants to open two more French branches this year.
Close to luxury stores
The new outlet in Paris is Miniso’s first store opening in Europe since its successful IPO on the American stock exchange earlier this month. The store is located on Rue de la Chaussée-d’Antin, within walking distance of the luxury boutiques in the French capital.
In fact, two more stores openings are planned this year in France, and Miniso plans to open additional locations in 2021. The retailer offers around 2,000 creative and low-cost goods, including housewares, health and beauty products, fashion accessories, gifts, office supplies, as well as food and seasonal products.
Miniso is undergoing a truly stormy development. The company was founded in 2013 and now has more than 4,200 branches in more than 80 countries. At the end of last year, Blokker owner Michiel Witteveen bought the rights to open stores of the Chinese discounter in the Netherlands. These have already been opened in Utrecht and Eindhoven.
