During its annual Cyber Week, Zalando attracted no less than one million new customers. The Connected Retail programme also proved to be effective, as partners of the fashion platform generated 30% of the turnover.
7,500 orders per minute
With one million new customers, Zalando surpassed its record of last year’s Cyber Week. Moreover, gross trade volume increased by 35% compared to the previous year. To say it has been a busy week at the fashion giant is an understatement because, at peak times, orders came in at 7,500 per minute.
External partners generated about 30% of all turnover this year. Last year, their share only accounted for 20%. Of the 2,300 shops that took part in Cyber Week through the Connected Retail programme, 250 joined in November alone.
“Cyber Week 2020 was a new milestone for our platform strategy, with a strong increase in the share of partners,” says Zalando co-CEO David Schneider. “We look forward to further expanding the Connected Retail programme in 2021.”
