Julian Dunkerton, co-founder of Superdry, is once again officially crowned as top executive and compiles a new team: there will be a new COO, CFO and also the chairman of the board will step down.
New management team in 2021
At clothing brand Superdry, co-founder and interim CEO Julian Dunkerton has permanently appointed himself as top executive. His return is thus definite: after a disagreement with the management at the time, Dunkerton left the company he founded in 2003 with James Holder in 2018, only to be reinstated by the board of directors in 2019. Since then, Dunkerton has been working on a turnaround for the brand.
In 2021, the CEO will be joined by an entirely new management team: in March, retail veteran Silvana Bonello, with 18 years of experience at Nike and until recently VP EMEA for Vans, will come on board as COO, and the search for a new CFO would be in an advanced stage. This search follows the departure of financial director Nick Gresham in October, after barely 16 months.
For Chairman of the Executive Board Peter Williams it is therefore time to resign, he himself says to Reuters: “2021 is an appropriate time for me to step down“. After less than two years in his role, he plans to leave the ship as soon as a successor has been appointed.
