Vendis sells the Danish design brand Ferm Living

The Scandinavian design brand Ferm Living changes hands: Belgian investment group Vendis Capital sells its majority stake to Maj Invest Equity. The label had been in Belgian hands for five years.

Scalable and intelligent

Vendis Capital sells the Scandinavian design label Ferm Living to Maj Invest Equity. In 2016, the Belgian investment group had acquired a majority stake in the company, founded in Denmark in 2006 as a small wallpaper manufacturer. Today, Ferm Living products are sold in more than 60 countries, including De Bijenkorf and FonQ in the Benelux.

“The partnership with Maj Invest Equity will help us to continue this journey, allowing us to do what we do best: inspire our consumers and create collections of furniture, accessories and lighting for every room in the home on a wider international scale,” says founder Trine Andersen about the agreement. Even after the acquisition by Maj, Andersen will remain creative director and partner at the company.

Buyer Maj especially welcomes the “intelligent and efficient” positioning of Ferm Living in ecommerce and is committed to further internationalisation. In recent years, the company has already considerably expanded its sales channels, product categories and geographical regions, which, according to CEO Peter Vedel, has laid the foundation for profitable and scalable growth. The transaction will be executed in the coming days.
