Department store approached Suit Supply
The custom-made suit specialist will offer its more luxurious collections, as they perform better in the United States, while the shop-in-shop will have the exact same design as every other Suit Supply store. Among others, a tailor will be present to adjust suits when needed.
The department store approached Suit Supply for the shop-in-shop: “Stanley Korshak’s offer was an opportunity we could not ignore. We started out our American adventure three years ago, with a store in SOHO, New York and currently, we have 11 American stores. Recently, we have also opened our first Canadian store in Toronto”, vice-president Nish De Gruiter told Fashionunited.
“This has drawn the attention of other retailers, but at first, we were hesitant to do shop-in-shops. Right now, we are talking to several retailers which should complement our own stores perfectly“, De Gruiter continued.
New Suit Supply stores on the horizon
Dallas’ shop-in-shop may be the first worldwide for Suit Supply, but it will not be the last: the company is looking for additional partners and are willing to listen to offers. “The only demand we have is that the retailer shares our vision and that our label fits their collections.”
The chain will continue opening its own stores as well. “Phoenix and Moscow will get new stores in a few weeks, while we are planning a second and third Chinese store. We are not dependent on shop-in-shops and can pick out our preferred partners”, De Gruiter concluded.
