Dutch supermarket chain Jumbo is planning to open three more Belgian stores in the coming weeks. This would lift the total to eleven stores in Belgium, including a first in the coastal province West-Flanders.
First in West-Flanders
A press release announces three new store openings for Jumbo in Belgium: two in the north-eastern province of Limburg (Zonhoven on 30 June and Heusden-Zolder on 14 July), with in between them a first store in West-Flanders (Zedelgem on 7 July). This would lift Jumbo’s total to eleven Belgian stores, and the retailer confirms its earlier ambition to have a hundred stores in Belgium in the long run.
Managing director Peter Isaac says he is confident that his chain’s stores and concept are a success with Belgians. “We want to expand to 100 stores and therefore we are looking for suitable locations and employees in the whole of Flanders.”
