Dutch e-tailer Coolblue is to open a sixth Belgian store in Kuurne by the end of the year, its first in the coastal province of West Flanders.
1,000 products
The new store will have around 1,000 products for customers to try out, along with services like advice, after-sales, smartphone repairs and – of course – a pick-up point for online orders. “When looking for a television set, you want to see it for yourself first. When looking for a wireless speaker, you want to hear it first”, CEO Pieter Zwart says, explaining why an online retailer is set on opening ever more physical stores.
With its new 1,000 sqm location in Kuurne (near Courtrai), Coolblue expands to the province of West Flanders for the first time. Moreover, the store is close to the French-speaking (and as of yet unserved) province of Hainaut. It is the sixth Belgian store for the Dutch company, following Antwerp, Brussels, Ghent, Hasselt and Zaventem. With this transaction, the former location of the ill-fated shoe store chain Brantano has been given a new lease of life.
