458.4 million euro in sales
Bonduelle’s quarterly turnover reached 458.4 million euro (+ 1.5 %), with sales in 100 countries. Europe represents 65 % of the groups’s total turnover and managed a 1.6 % like-for-like growth. “This improvement, when compared to last quarter (+ 1.1 %), is driven primarily by a steady sales performance of the canned operating segment, both brand (Bonduelle and Cassegrain) and private labels and by the fresh processed segment returning to positive growth thanks to a significant recovery of the bagged ready-to-eat salad activity in Italy.”
“Conversely, the frozen activity remains affected by a gloomy food service sector that is offset, in part only, by an impressive growth of the frozen Bonduelle brand in retail sales”, the main office in Dunkerque stated. Excluding Europe, the group has managed a 15.1 % increase with the United States as a booming market for its frozen vegetables.
Bonduelle, founded in 1853, processes 128,000 hectares of vegetables on a yearly basis on 57 different industrial sites. It has also confirmed its 2014-2015 forecast: a 4 % turnover growth at equal exchange rates and a “historically high” operational profit of 106 to 107 million euro.
