MediaMarkt is bringing its Tech village store concept to the centre of Rotterdam. After Milan, this is the second European city where the electronics giant is launching its experience store concept.
Meeting place
The existing store in Rotterdam is being transformed into a MediaMarkt Tech Village, designed primarily as a meeting place and inspiration for technology fans. Renowned brands will be able to showcase their latest products in various ’boutiques’, but there will also be a coffee counter and a pick-up machine outside the store for collecting online orders. This machine will be available 24/7. “MediaMarkt Tech Village Rotterdam will not be just another revamped store, but truly a technology Mecca in which the customer experience is central”, the press release reads.
This store is the retailer’s second outlet that is fitted out as part of the new experience concept. The first of its kind was a store in Milan. MediaMarkt will open only a few branches of this sort throughout Europe.
In total, MediaMarkt has four store concepts, each with a different focus. In addition to the tech village and the regular stores, there are also smaller locations for quick repairs and/or picking up orders, and a concept emphasising convenience and shopping experience.
