Aldi Nord has opened a new technology hub in Kraków, Poland. At the beginning of this month, the first employees started working at the site, but Aldi hopes to employ 250 IT specialists there by next year.
Stimulating innovation
The new facility aims to drive forward the retailer’s transformation and digitisation, which is “a number one priority for Aldi Nord”, Chief Technology Officer Sinanudin Omerhodzic says. “It is an important step to take the core business to the next level of digital expansion and foster innovation.”
Both internal and external specialists will collaborate on technology projects and solutions for Aldi Nord at the hub. Their role is to support optimally and actively drive the transformation process. The aim is to build up a team of IT experts in Kraków by mid-2022. At the same time, Aldi Nord is further expanding the technological organisation at its site in Essen, Germany.
