106 billion euro turnover in total
Alongside Belgian Colruyt and German Rewe, Italian Conad and Swiss Coop Group all belong to that same alliance and Système U will now join its ranks on 1 January 2015. It will by then have left its current alliance, the European purchasing organisation AMS.

This will strengthen our European partnership and will contribute to further deepening of our cooperation”, Gianluigi Ferrari, CORE’s general manager, said. Former Coopernic members founded CORE, after they had left Coopernic because of disputes with French Leclerc.
CORE’s 4 members had a joint 2013 turnover of 106 billion euro. Including Système U, the group will active in 18 countries through more than 23,000 stores. Its goal is to negotiate better prices with the suppliers through their combined power.
