Decision by end of June
According to The Financial Times, Cavalli would be willing to sell his company for 450 million euro, including debt. The negotiations still have quite a while to go, the paper states. Cavalli wants to decide by the end of June if he would sell to Investcorp, which also used to own Gucci and apparently tried (and failed) to buy Versace.
Talks with investment firm Permira did not lead to anything as it was unclear who would lead the brand after the purchase. Permira wanted to have a majority stake, but Cavalli’s stance toward the board of directors apparently scared off Permira. The exact same reason was apparently the reason why Italian investment firm Clessidra also backed out last year.
