Dutch lingerie chain Hunkemöller is planning an expansion to the UK: under its foreign brand name Bodique the group will occupy a shop-in-shop in House of Fraser’s Oxford street store in London. If successful, the concept will be expanded to several of the 61 luxurious House of Fraser department stores.
Hunkemöller has been using partnerships with other chains with great success to expand, both in the Netherlands (V&D) and in Germany (Karstadt). Since French private equity group PAI Partners took over command last year, Hunkemöller has also invested heavily in self-owned stores: today, the chain has over 400 stores in Europe, the Middle-East and the Caribbean. Just this week, Hunkemöller will open its rebranded flagship store in Amsterdam.
