Slower growth in Europe
The group’s total turnover reached 3.171 billion euro in the first half of 2014, a 5 % growth compared to the year before. Taking exchange rate fluctuations into account, only 0.2 % turnover growth remained. Post-tax profit reached 309 million euro.
Looking at each brand, Nivea turnover grew 6.1 %, Eucerin grew 6.8 % and La Prairie even grew 7 %. European turnover grew 2 % to 1.477 billion euro, slower growth blamed on a saturated market. American turnover grew 4.8 % while African, Asian and Australian turnover spiked 11.3 %.
