Retail faces disruption
Extensive research among experienced retailers and industry experts, alongside an Advisory Board (including directors from Tesco, SPAR, Bata, Deloitte and others) help form the themes for the annual World Retail Congress. It quickly became clear that ‘disruption’ is the major factor facing the retailing world.
That has resulted in a general theme of “Retailing in an age of disruption”, covering areas like disruptive business models, disruptive technologies and others. Over 165 speakers will help guide more than 1500 CEO’s, presidents and managing directors from over 50 countries to deal with these possible obstacles.
Obviously, 2014 World Retail Congress will also provide participants an opportunity to network with other businesses in order to establish partnerships and benefit from each other’s experiences. As Sanjeev Mohanty (managing director for Benetton India) stated: “World
