Danish interior design chain Jysk has opened two stores in Istanbul on 4 May, kicking off its Turkish adventure.
“Strong concept”
Despite slowing sales, Jysk keeps expanding. Now it wants to conquer Turkey. The chain has opened stores in Torium AVM and in Oasis Cadde, two shopping centres in Istanbul. Besides the physical stores, there will also be a Turkish webshop. “Our first two stores are only the beginning of our expansion plans, as we see many opportunities for more JYSK stores in Türkiye,” says Jan Bøgh, the company’s CEO.
He believes in Jysk’s business model: “We have a strong business model that works well both in our own countries and for our franchisees. One of our biggest strengths is our small store concept, which makes it possible for us to be closer to customers and make their shopping experience as easy as possible.”
The interior design chain opened its first store in Denmark in 1979 and currently has more than 3,200 stores worldwide.
