Spanish fashion giant Inditex, known for brands like Zara, Pull & Bear and Bershka, had a great first semester of its financial year (which starts in February). The company noted a 12 percent rise in turnover and 14 percent growth in net profit.
Turnover for that first semester rose to 6.21 billion euros, while profit was up to 717 million. The company opened 177 new stores over the period to lift the total number over the 5200 mark.
The company also expanded online, with all brands now active in e-commerce. Zara has become the first Inditex chain to start selling online in the USA. Inditex also announced expansion to South Africa, Taiwan, Georgia, Azerbaijan and Peru. Currently the company is active in 78 countries worldwide.
