A couple of companies have sent their vegetables to Turkey in blank boxes, which then get a ‘Made in Turkey’ label. These get transported to Russia, where the Dutch vegetables get eaten – despite the boycott.
The method is not allowed, as it is compulsory to clearly state the origin of the food, but a lot of growers risk the fines as they might go bankrupt if they do not manage to sell at all.
