Italian designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana have decided to end their younger and (relatively) cheaper D&G-line. This does not mean the end of their main brand Dolce&Gabbana though, as the duo want to focus on that line – and new projects – in the near future.
Dolce and Gabbana announced their decision yesterday evening in Milan, where D&G’s last catwalk show was held, despite the popularity of the brand with its iconic two-letter logo and glamorous style. Last year, D&G added 383 million euro to the group’s turnover.
For many people, the two brands were completely synonymous, even though D&G was only launched in 1994 – nine years after the main Dolce&Gabbana label. After today’s decision, D&G will really be integrated in the Dolce&Gabbana line.
