20 years of experience
His replacement, Euan Sutherland, has nearly 20 years of retail experience – having worked at B&Q, Dixons and Coca-Cola. He has been SuperGroup’s non-executive director for the past two years after he resigned as Co-Op Group’s CEO after merely 10 months in March, calling the company unmanageable.
Dunkerton founded the company more than 30 years ago and went public in 2010, but will now become the company’s product & brand director. That means his focus will shift to the development of new SuperDry products and the brand’s protection during its international expansion.
“Increasing complexity”
“With the number of opportunities SuperGroup has available and the increasing complexity of the business, now is the right time to bring in a CEO of Euan’s calibre,” Dunkerton said in a statement.
SuperDry’s products are currently on sale in more than 100 countries worldwide and it even has 135 stores of its own in the United Kingdom and Europe.
