Woman with experience
American Apparel’s board suspended Charney in June 2014, after sexual misconduct allegations. He was still a consultant for the company, but Scott Brubaker was the temporary CEO since then.
An internal investigation has now led to all ties to Charney being cut. His replacement, Paula Schneider, has plenty of fashion experience: she was part of upper management at Warnaco, Gores Group and BCBG Max Azria.
Charney’s departure might have serious consequences for American Apparel, as the founder had previously claimed he would demand his 25 million dollar (20 million euro) severance package if he lost his position as CEO.
American Apparel has some 250 own stores in 20 different countries with more than 10,000 employees.
