Online growth
Macintosh Retail Group’s total turnover reached 241.5 million euro in its fourth quarter, up 5.4 % compared to the year before. Its Living branch, now consisting only of Kwantum stores, saw its turnover grow 18.7 % to 55.1 million euro. Fashion managed a 2 % turnover increase to 186.4 million euro.
Particularly Fashion’s online turnover grew a lot, up 25.7 % to 19.8 million euro. Its offline sales declined by 0.2 %, mainly because of lower Fashion Belux turnover (- 5.7 %). On the other hand, Fashion UK grew 6.1 %.
Fall and winter below expectations
CEO Kurt Staelens pointed to the warm weather for the bad result, as its “fall and winter collections under-performed because of the weather. The positive evolution of Fashion turnover up until August was more than nullified because of this”, he said.
Macintosh’s full-year turnover grew 5.9 % to 870.6 million euro with Fashion up 6 % and Living 5.6 %. The group’s online turnover grew 41.3 % to 64.8 million euro. The company will reveal its full-year numbers on 19 March 2015.
