Dutch eyewear group Nexeye, which owns low-cost chains like Direkt Optik, Eyes + More and Hans Anders, is up for sale. Investment group 3i (which also owns Action) is looking for a potential buyer, but interest seems to be small.
First round
The process is already underway, Dutch newspaper FD reports. The first bidding round ended last week, but interest is said to be limited as investors are shying away from retail companies. One of the bidders is said to be American investor Ares Management.
3i estimates Nexeye’s value at 456 million euros, its turnover in 2022 was 355 million euros. It was 3i itself that created the Nexeye group, by adding chains it had acquired to the Hans Anders Retail Group.
