More environmental-friendly production
Over thirty companies, including Marks & Spencer and Swiss Coop, have already signed the campaign and stated they will no longer use dangerous chemicals when producing textile. Environmental organization Greenpeace has also asked the retailers to take a look at their other manufacturing processes and to consider how they can use their resources responsibly.
“Aldi took a stand and acknowledged its responsibility for the whole life cycle of its textiles. This is a huge step forward and another victory for all of you who have been a part of the Detox campaign since we began four years ago”, Greenpeace wrote on its website.
