Guylian has started the search for a new CEO after the Belgian manufacturer of famous seafood chocolates parted ways with Tom Snick.
All options open
The Dutchman left the Belgian chocolate producer after just three years, having only been appointed in 2021 by Guylian’s Korean owner Lotte Confectionery with the task of reviving the somewhat old-fashioned brand. It is as of yet unclear why Snick had to go.
Snick led Guylian through a major relaunch in 2022, adding a new identity, an improved recipe and strong sustainability commitments. The ambition was not small: in just four years, Guylian wanted to double its sales, the CEO said in an interview with RetailDetail. Whether the company is on track to meet those targets is not known.
When asked who will succeed the CEO, Lotte Confectionery managing director Kevin Lee told Just Food that all options were still open and that “it is not possible to give more detailed information at this point.”
