Carrefour has ended a three-month-long boycott against FMCG giant PepsiCo, allowing products by major brands such as Pepsi, Doritos and Quaker back on its shelves.
Available again
Alexandre de Palmas, Managing Director of Carrefour France, confirmed the news, posting a picture of him with a bottle of Pepsi and the message “It is a pleasure to see friends again that you had not seen for a long time.” Details of the agreement are not released by the parties involved, but the retailer confirmed the deal to news agency AFP.
In early January, Carrefour had removed all PepsiCo products from its shelves, halting all orders due to price increases it deemed “unacceptable”. The conflict had an impact all over Europe, as Carrefour conducts its negotiations through its European buying centre Eureca. The end of the French boycott therefore also means that PepsiCo products are now also available again in the chain’s Belgian shops.
