Double function
Descheemaeker will now become CEO at Nomad, the British Virgin Islands-based group which recently acquired frozen food manufacturer Iglo for 2.6 billion euro. As soon as the acquisition is finalized, Descheemaeker’s appointment will be confirmed, the company said. At that time, he will also become Iglo Group’s CEO, replacing Italian Elio Leoni Sceti who has announced he will join American cosmetics group Coty.

He possesses a rare combination of food retailing and fast-moving consumer goods experience as well as a honed expertise in corporate M&A strategy.” His built his expertise in corporate M&A strategy with Belgian brewer Interbrew among others.
Stéfan Descheemaeker left Delhaize in October 2013, because the former Delhaize Europe CEO had hoped to succeed Pierre-Olivier Beckers as the company’s new CEO – only to see Dutch Frans Muller take the reins instead.
